What is a Health Coach?
Most people know what it will take to achieve their health goals. The challenge is capturing and translating that knowledge into action. Health coaching is an integrative form of coaching that empowers you to expose the perspectives, beliefs, and attitudes that hold you back and fortify those that support your resiliency and ability to achieve optimal health.
Health coaching was developed to help you bridge the gap between your needs and what is available to you from public health care today. A health coach will help you define what “health” means to you and provide a suite of expert resources and skills to help you achieve that outcome.
No one understands your body better than you. By honouring that expertise and supporting you through self-reflection, health coaching addresses lifestyle and habits that hinder your progress. Drawing on a strong evidence-based healthcare background, coaches help you unlock your goals through mindful inquiry into the mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, and environmental factors that influence your health every day.

Health coaches focus on six specific areas to build resiliency:

Examine your professional, volunteer, or caregiving work.

What to Expect
When you work with a health coach, you can expect to get to know yourself in a safe and supportive environment focused on helping you achieve your health goals. An initial intake starts with a series of questions to help your coach tease out the details that underpin your thinking and habits as they relate to all facets of your health.
From there, your coach will guide you to resources and teach you skills that will help bring the mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, social, and environmental factors that influence your health every day into alignment.

Jennifer’s core values are practicing mindful listening, compassion, and being in her true nature. She believes people can change towards a healthier lifestyle given the opportunity to self-express and discover who they are, their own beliefs, values, and visions. When people are given the support they need, they can easily draw from their inner wisdom the knowledge they already have to make life long lasting changes to optimize their well-being.
She has been working in healthcare for thirty years. She has studied and worked in modalities ranging from physiotherapy with advanced training in pelvic health, osteopathic manual therapy, and acupuncture to heart-centred therapy and somato emotional release.
Jennifer’s physiotherapy practice specializes in pelvic health conditions such as pelvic pain, endometriosis, PCOS, menopause, prolapse, and incontinence. She has advanced training to support women during prenatal care, labour, delivery, and post-natal care. Coaching can be done via Telehealth.
Health coaching is an extension of her life-long dedication to working with women to achieve their health and wellness goals. With guidance and the proper tools, you can bring your body, mind, and actions into alignment. She studies with the Integrative Women’s Health Institute.
